Here’s what to do for sending Quotes and opening Services

How do I send a quote or open a service for a client?

You can see a list view of all your services and quotes in the Services page accessed from the main navigation.

To open a new quote or service:

  1. Navigate to the Client you want to add a service to, or to the Services page.
  1. Use the New Service button to start creating your service. The last step of the service builder is to indicate if the service will be a Quote or directly an Active service.
    1. Note that creating an active service will not prompt your client to agree to the limited scope retainer until they login to the Goodlawyer app again. Ensure that you have express permission to start working on a file if you plan to create an Active service.
    2. Note that line items can be marked as Disbursements to make the service exempt from tax and Goodlawyer Service Fees (3% payment processing fee still applies)

Pro Tip: Your client will receive automated email notifications from Goodlawyer when you create a Quote or Service, but we strongly encourage you to follow-up with a client after sending a Quote or creating a new Service by using the message portal and sending them a note. Effective communication is the key to successful engagements with your clients.

🧠
We see almost 50% higher conversion rates on Quotes when the lawyer books a quick follow-up call to review the Quote with their client.
